Student Cancer Research Fellowship Application Information
Please send all of your documents to us in one package. Make sure that all of the documents are included, because we will not review incomplete applications.
You must mail your packet to us. We do not accept applications by email or fax.
- Please do not staple any part of your application or required documents.
- Please make sure all documents are single-sided.
Mail your completed packet to the University of Colorado Cancer Center Grants and Education Office, using the mailing address to the right.
What to Include in your Application Packet
- Your completed application form.
- An essay that explains why you are applying for our Student Cancer Research Fellowship, why you are interested in each of the three projects you have indicated on your application form and why you plan to pursue a cancer-related career. Maximum length: 2 pages, double-spaced.
- Official grade transcript for the most recent 12-month period you completed. College freshmen should submit high school transcripts as well as that for first-semester courses. If you are a University of Colorado Denver medical student, no transcript is required. We cannot accept unofficial transcripts.
- Two letters of recommendation. If you are a college undergraduate, at least one letter must be from a science teacher. If you are a returning fellow, submit a letter from your previous preceptor plus one other recommendation.
We will notify you by email
We will tell you whether you have been selected to be a fellow by email in mid-April. Since email is our preferred method of communication, please tell us immediately if your email address changes by writing to Jill Penafiel.
