Daniel L. Gustafson, Ph.D., Core Director
Pharmacology Core staff Dan Gustafson, Ryan Hansen and Brad Samber
Dr. Gustafson is responsible for policies, procedures, personnel, budget, equipment, reports and Cancer Center meetings. He has directed the Pharmacology Core since its inception and plays a role in study planning, method development, analysis and modeling of data. Since Dr. Gustafson is the major expert in PK/PD modeling and analysis, he is an author on many of the publications as he spends his research time as well as his core time on these studies. Dr. Gustafson serves as management for GLP studies and maintains training records for GLP compliance.
Bradley J. Samber, Professional Research Associate, Sample Analyst
Mr. Samber has worked in the Pharmacology Core since 2005 and has become experienced in LC/MS/MS analysis through on the job training by Dr. Gustafson and Dr. Joseph Zirrolli as well as through on-site training by Applied Biosystems (Christopher Borton, ABI Field Application Specialist). Currently, Mr. Samber is responsible for a majority of sample preparation and analysis as well as method development and validation. Mr. Samber is trained in GLP-compliance and serves as an analyst in GLP-compliant studies.
Ryan J. Hansen, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, Quality Control
Dr. Hansens is responsible for quality control within the Pharmacology Core as well as assisting in assay development and sample analysis. Dr. Hansen has been associated with the Core since 2006 and has become experienced in LC/MS/MS analysis through on the job training by Dr. Gustafson and Dr. Joseph Zirrolli as well as through on-site training by Applied Biosystems (Christopher Borton, ABI Field Application Specialist). Dr. Hansen is trained in GLP-compliance and serves as the compliance officer in GLP-compliant studies.
