Shared Core Services at the University of Colorado Cancer Center
The University of Colorado Cancer Center offers cancer research facilities that are unparalleled in the Rocky Mountain region. Thanks to federal funding through our Cancer Center Support Grant, we are able to offer cancer researchers everywhere the tools they need to do their work.
Our Shared Core Facilities, or Core Labs, provide equiment and expertise that would be too expensive for cancer investigators to develop in their individual labs. They also provide quality controls on certain activities or products routinely used in cancer research, reduce costs associated with some research activities and promote technology transfer from lab research to patient care.
“This funding is key to our research,” said Paul Bunn, Jr., MD, director of the UCCC. “By combining our resources in these core facilities, we are able to conduct research in a more efficient manner, which will lead to better treatments sooner.”
