The Active Women's Health program at the University Sports Medicine Center addresses the health and conditioning issues of women. University of Colorado Hospital is one of the only sports medicine programs in the country to have this kind of program.

University of Colorado Hospital is part of a project to collect data on anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. The goal of the research is to identify risk factors that may affect surgery and recovery.

Dr. Michael J. Gordon is a board-certified plastic and hand surgeon, with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery. His specialties are hand surgery, upper extremity reconstructive surgery, limb preservation and replantation surgery. Dr. Gordon has been the director of Hand Surgery at the University of Colorado Hospital since 1990.
Dr. Jennifer Moriatis Wolf is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand.  Her specialties are wrist and elbow arthroscopy, wrist reconstruction and distal radius fractures. Dr Wolf's research interests include hand anatomy, outcomes research and molecular changes in wrist ligaments.

Eric McCarty, MD, is director of the CU Sports Medicine Program. He specializes in surgery of the elbow, knee and surgery. He is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon.

Deborah Saint-Phard, MD, is director of the Active Women’s Health Program. She conducts research on stress fractures in female athletes. She is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Michelle Wolcott, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in ACL injuries and women’s sports medicine.
