3rd Annual Colorado Cancer Day: Sat., Sept. 29, 2009
Join us for a day of information and conversation about the latest treatments for common cancer types, cancer survivorship information and more, brought to you by the experts at the University of Colorado Cancer Center.

FREE Patient/Community Track: 9 am to 12:30 pm
For cancer patients, their family members and friends, the Patient Track includes the latest information about cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment from the scientists and doctors who are at the forefront of cancer research: members of the University of Colorado Cancer Center
This half-day session includes a choice of information on breast, colorectal, lung and prostate cancer. After the individual sessions, you will join together for a common session, with topics such as coping with cancer, nutrition, alternative therapies and clinical trials. You will have plenty of time to ask questions of our experts. Lunch is included.
Primary Care Providers and Allied Health Professionals Track: 9 am to 4 pm
This full-day continuing medical education course is geared toward primary care practitioners and trainees. The day will provide informational updates in two simultaneous programs, one tailored toward primary care physicians for CME credit, and another for patients, friends and families of those with cancer. Information will be presented, appropriately for each audience, on:
- early detection and diagnosis
- best practices for treatment
- new discoveres in medical, surgical and radiation therapy options
- late effects of cancer treatment
- alternative therapy for symptom management
- cancer survivorship
- perspectives on the patient experience
Sessions are scheduled by cancer site and topics are presented by some of the region's top oncologists and cancer researchers. By joining us, you will return to your practice with the latest information on cancer diagnosis and treatment. Your attendance will also help us reach our goal to expand cancer awareness and facilitate cooperation among clinicians, specialists and researchers in Colorado and beyond.
